Think

Yesterday I looked out the kitchen window to watch a hummingbird drink at the bird feeder we have. It is so small, it actually looked smaller than the other hummingbirds we see flittering around. But it is hard to tell, because they fly in the air so fast and they don’t all drink at the same time.

To watch these birds are amazing, it reminds me how fragile life is and how we need to help each other. For without the food we provide for them, it would be tougher for them to eat as during the winter time there are not a lot of flowers blooming to give them the nectar they so need. Maybe it is a metaphor or a conundrum or whatever that word is, because everybody needs help once in a while, whether it be animals, plants or people. And we as a society, as God fearing people, and as good neighbors need to give it to them the best way we know.

It will make us feel better, even for a little bit. Our problems and troubles won’t be gone, but they won’t seem so gigantic and hopefully, just hopefully we will have thought about someone else’s problem and not about ourselves for a while.
